My first view of Bangkok

Posted Saturday, March 1 at noon:
It’s been 10 days since I arrived in Bangkok and I have pretty much adapted to life here, except for the heat and humidity. Today the temperature ranges from 80 to 93 with 65% humidity. Bangkok is an amazing big city that combines the very old and the extreme modern. Everything from street food stands to big beautiful high rise malls on the same block. the streets and sidewalks are clean and everybody is calm and friendly. Traffic is horrendous and. the main transportation is by way of an overhead train system. It’s built about 4 stores above the street and is very clean, fast, efficient and cheap. Usually each terminal is near a shopping area and defines a neighborhood. The only problem is the main way up to the terminals is by 4+ stories of stairs or somewhere nearby is a handicap elevator(I’m glad I’m old!). The best alternative is Bolt, same as Uber, a cash car service that is very efficient and inexpensive. You will notice most of my photos are taken at night; it’s too hot to even carry a camera during the day.
